Extra Practice News Story 2:Fire

On January 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. there was a terrible fire located on the cornor of 21st street

and Washington bld. which an apartment complex on the top two floors and Pedro's

Mexican resturant on the bottom floor. No one was killed but Maria Del Mar age 4,

and Mercedes age 2, live on the second third floor of the building with their father

Miguel Sanchez age 27 and were taken to McKay-Dee hospital with minor injuries.

Miguel is the brother of Pedro Sanchez who is the owner of Pedro's resturant and is

the one that saw the fire happen. Pedro said " I was cooking for Michael Freeman ( a

Regular customer at Pedro's) and the fire caught to the grease on the stove. I

yelled to Michael to call for help and next thing you know the whole place was

filled with black smoke, it happened so fast". Friends of Pedro have already offered

to help re-build the resturant back up. Pedro is a legal citizen and was "hoping to

stay and grow in with resturant business". He has only been here for two years, and

his brother Miguel has been here for 6 months. Hopefully they will be able

to stay and get communities help with re-building his resturant.
